This role combines direct student interaction with innovative program design, enabling the specialist to guide individual readers while developing a framework for literacy instruction across multiple school sites.

Responsibilities

Facilitating adaptive reading workshops that build core competencies in phonics, comprehension, and fluency

Creating individualized motivational experiences that resonate with children and foster enduring passion for reading

Evaluating student performance metrics to iteratively improve your methods and identify actionable insights

Partnering with the technology team to assess and refine AI-powered literacy tools

Qualification

Advanced certification in readingExperience in reading interventionsAssessing reading levelsAI/adaptive learning toolsDifferentiated instruction

Required

Bachelor's degree with advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)

At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group reading interventions to early elementary students

Skilled at assessing reading levels, grouping students, and designing differentiated instruction without pre-written curricula

Proficient with AI/adaptive learning tools and responsive to student behaviors within them

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Willingness to work on-site at one of our campuses: Chantilly (Washington), VA; Lake Forest (Orange County), CA; San Francisco, CA; Miami, FL; or New York City, NY
