Responsibilities

Responsible for being a positive first contact person for parents and visitors
Schedule appointments and maintain calendar for building administrator and building activities
Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory of all school supplies and equipment for all staff members, process purchase requisitions and supply requests
Dispense medication and responsible for related record keeping, as requested
Responsible for assisting assigned substitute teachers by defining school practice and preparing time reports for substitute teachers
Assist the principal with implementing the student enrollment process and with parental involvement
Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents and the community in positive, supportive and cooperative ways
Regular, reliable and punctual attendance
Other duties as assigned

Required

Post high school education in the field of secretarial skills and procedures or three years to five years successful experience as a secretary required
Experience working with computers, required
Working knowledge of Windows based programs required
Willing and able to learn the district's e-mail, student records, payroll, and financial systems
Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Excellent organizational skills, including filing and record maintenance
Work well with all employees, parents, students and community members
Evidence of leadership ability
Respect for confidentiality of information
Able to handle diverse projects, be flexible and take initiative
Demonstrated ability to work well in high stress situations
Ability to work in an economically, culturally, and racially diverse environment
