The role focuses on collaborating with domain product designers to enhance the internal design system and support local teams in building scalable and accessible design components.

Responsibilities
Embed locally in 3 domains on a rotational basis to understand the domain context at a high level
Audit the current state of the local library in each domain
Identify top needs for each domain and create a prioritized roadmap of local library initiatives
Identify opportunities to graduate components and/or add new variants to existing components in the core design system to reduce the size of each local library as much as possible
Conduct light research with designers in the local domain to ensure best-in-class library builds
Collaborate with engineering partners on the build out of design components in the local library
Lead the design, feedback gathering, iteration, and launch of new features in the local library
Create robust design specs for engineering hand off
Document changes for designers and engineers using the local library
Collaborate directly with the core system design team to ensure solutions are scalable, stable, and seamless to use
Build for accessibility up front in the design process and advocate for inclusive experiences
Maintain and improve local libraries in Figma based on user feedback throughout the year
Drive thoughtful engagement with our design community by participating in our operational programs like Office Hours, slack support, etc
Establish an intake process to support broader needs of the local domain teams not in the current rotation
Qualification
Required
4+ years of explicit design system experience (usually on top of 10+ years of product design experience)
Experience collaborating with domain teams from the core design system
Experience owning and contributing to a design system in Figma
Excellent communication skills to articulate decisions and rationale
Preferred
10+ years experience designing for enterprise products via an enterprise design system
