PROGRAM ASSISTANT (DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES PROGRAMS)
The California Department of Developmental Services is seeking compassionate individuals to join their team at the STAR Acute Crisis Homes. In this role, you will provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities during acute crises, assisting them with daily living activities and promoting independence.

Qualification
Required
Must complete requirements to become a certified adult or group home administrator within 3 months of hire date
Maintain adult or group home administrator certification
Complete required yearly Continuing Education Units (CEU) hours required by Title 17 and 40 CEUs every 2 years for renewal for administrator's certificate as per Title 22
Shall either pass the Challenge Test or successfully complete the DSP competency-based training program Year 1 and 2, as mandated by the Department of Developmental Services
A minimum of two years of prior experience providing direct care, implementing behavioral programs, and/or providing supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities is required
Qualification as a behavior modification professional as defined by Title 17, Section 59050(v)
Two years of experience designing, supervising, and implementing behavior modification services
Holding licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Prior experience working collaboratively with a team
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Possession of a valid form of identification
Completion of required certifications or licensure components
Possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in this duty statement
Must be able to work with individuals with developmental disabilities (e.g. autistic spectrum disorder, intellectual disability) and severe behavioral (e.g. aggression, self-injurious behavior, property destruction, and elopement) and psychiatric conditions and symptoms (e.g. psychosis, mood disorders, PTSD, and suicidal ideation)
Possession and maintenance of sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during emergency situations, or during physically, mentally or emotionally stressful situations encountered on the job without endangering his/her own health and well-being or that of fellow employees, individuals, or the public
Preferred
Knowledge of positive behavioral supports utilizing person-centered practices with individuals with developmental disabilities and severe psychiatric and behavioral conditions
