New Grad, Entry LevelAB.INC is seeking a Lab Technician to work in their Long Island City shop, focused on preparing and configuring computers and security equipment for deployment. The role involves daily bench work including imaging and configuring devices, organizing equipment, and supporting field installation teams.

Responsibilities
Configure Windows PCs, NVRs, and workstations for use with CCTV and access control systems
Install and update required software (VMS clients/servers, browser plugins, utilities)
Set IP addresses, basic network settings, and verify network connectivity for devices
Create and apply standard images/profiles for repeatable deployments
Unbox, label, and inventory new equipment (cameras, controllers, switches, PCs, etc.)
Pre-program devices (IP cameras, access control panels, recorders) according to project lists
Perform basic functional tests (video feed, recording, door operation, login access)
Prepare kits for field crews (pre-labeled devices, accessories, and documentation)
Perform final checks before equipment leaves the shop (power on, login, connectivity, naming)
Record serial numbers, IP addresses, and configurations in our tracking systems
Maintain accurate spreadsheets or ticket notes for each project
Document repeatable procedures and update internal setup checklists
Keep lab benches, shelves, and racks organized and labeled
Help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area
Assist with RMAs and returns (testing, documenting, and packaging defective gear)
Support project managers and field technicians with basic remote troubleshooting from the shop
Communicate clearly about equipment status, missing items, or issues found during staging
Qualification
Required
Experience with configuring Windows PCs, NVRs, and workstations for use with CCTV and access control systems
Ability to install and update required software (VMS clients/servers, browser plugins, utilities)
Knowledge of setting IP addresses, basic network settings, and verifying network connectivity for devices
Experience in creating and applying standard images/profiles for repeatable deployments
