Responsibilities
Manage external service providers on sales/use and other indirect tax compliance to ensure timely accurate reporting and remittance
Manage sales tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and responses
Work with external providers on the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including sales and use tax, income tax, and franchise tax
Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations while identifying opportunities for tax savings and efficiency
Conduct tax research and analysis to assess the impact of new tax laws and regulations on the company
Develop and implement tax strategies that align with Fashion Nova’s business objectives
Collaborate with external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants to ensure best practices in tax compliance
Assist in tax accounting and reporting processes
Support transfer pricing compliance and international tax matters as needed
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax changes and assess their implications for the company
Provide guidance and training to internal teams regarding tax policies and procedures
Work on special projects as needed to improve tax related operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or Master's in Taxation preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate tax, preferably within the retail or e-commerce industry
Experience in sales tax audits and has worked directly to resolve sales tax audits with state agencies
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
Experience with tax research tools, ERP systems, and sales tax software, including implementation and changes. Familiarity with Avalara is highly desirable
Detail-oriented, ability to work with large volume data. Ability to work with reporting and data tools, such as Looker, and Power Query and SQL are a plus
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders
