AIRCRAFT MECHANIC LEADER (TITLE 32)

Responsibilities

On a regular and recurring basis, leads three or more aircraft mechanics, crew chiefs, and special personnel performing work in the inspection docks
Monitors the work of assigned personnel, sets the pace, passes along assignments, and assures that materials, tools, equipment and stock set available
Monitors work of assigned personnel, set the work pace, convey work assignments, and ensure that materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available
Works along with aircraft mechanics and specialist personnel performing journeyman work as required
Ensures that assigned personnel are fully utilized and work is accomplished in accordance with established time frames and priorities
Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance (e.g. additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees)
Performs other duties as assigned

This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment
Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Individuals on incentive bonuses may be subject to recoupment or termination, contact the State Incentives Manager at Whiteman AFB at (660) 687-7394 or at St. Joseph at (816) 236-3339 for any questions concerning recoupment or termination
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination
Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Air National Guard
Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion)
Maximum Military Grade - MSgt (E-7)
Minimum Military Grade - TSgt (E-6)
Experience, education or training which demonstrates skill in and knowledge of the work; ability to lead others, to organize tools and materials for them; and to interpret technical orders, regulations and procedures
Must possess specialized experience in a wide variety of aircraft repair work that provided you with the knowledge and skill to direct and instruct others in aircraft repair procedures
The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to provide guidance to others in troubleshooting unusual/complex equipment malfunctions affecting one or more aircraft systems; and the ability to provide guidance to others in the performance of airworthiness inspections

Possession (or previous possession) of AFSC 2A574 is optimum
