Responsibilities
Develop and execute procurement strategies for substation equipment, transmission infrastructure, EPC contracts, and distributed energy resources (DER) behind the meter
Drive supplier negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and delivery timelines
Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers specializing in substation systems, EPC services, and on-site generation technologies (solar, battery storage, CHP)
Oversee contract drafting, compliance, and risk mitigation for high-value agreements
Partner with engineering, project management, and land acquisition teams to align procurement plans with project timelines
Support budgeting and forecasting for procurement spend
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and company policies
Monitor market trends and supply chain risks in the energy sector
Implement KPIs for supplier performance and procurement efficiency
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in energy infrastructure, EPC projects, or substation projects
Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management
Strong knowledge of power systems, substations, EPC delivery models, and behind-the-meter generation technologies
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in the energy sector
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
Experience with ERP systems and procurement software
Understanding of renewable energy projects, distribution generation, and grid integration
Ability to manage complex, multi-million-dollar procurement portfolios
