Catering Sales Manager

The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for leading catering and event sales efforts, cultivating client relationships, planning events, and ensuring a memorable experience for guests.

Responsibilities
Maintain or exceed budgeted booking goals and revenue for all special event areas
Sell to a wide variety of market segments and thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Foster long-term client relationships to consistently generate repeat business
Actively engage in industry-related organizations, trade shows, and sales blitzes
Conduct site inspections and client presentations to showcase The Odyssey's unique offerings
Participate in community and civic activities to enhance brand awareness and create booking opportunities
Use creativity to design innovative event setups, menus, and functions for groups
Collaborate closely with the banquet department to ensure smooth event execution
Provide detailed banquet event orders to set the operations team up for success
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in catering or event sales, in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or venue similar to Odyssey
Proven track record of successfully managing sales and client relationships
Strong understanding of venue features, market trends, and competing venues
Experience working with audio-visual equipment and using it as a revenue center
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, CRM platforms, and sales software (e.g., Delphi, Salesforce)
Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and clients
Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and pressure
Positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred
Advanced knowledge of event planning and hospitality sales
Experience working in an upscale venue with high-end clients
