Work Control Planner 2
COMPA Industries, Inc. is searching for qualified candidates for a Work Control Planner 2 position at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The role involves developing and reviewing Integrated Work Documents to support maintenance and construction activities, ensuring safe and efficient facility operations that contribute to national security.
Responsibilities
Develop and/or review work packages (IWDs), including labor/material/time estimates and detailed work instructions
Address mechanical, electrical, and roofing systems with emphasis on safety, testing protocols, and procedural compliance
Conduct safety walks, identify hazards, and integrate mitigations into plans
Participate in all three project phases: assessment, design, and execution
Provide planning and execution support for emergent or 'pop-up' work
Resolve work restraints and oversee work package closure
Collaborate with AMP program leads (RAMP, CHAMP, LAMP) to align work with broader program objectives
Navigate hybrid work schedules, with on-site coordination required during project execution
Drive to/from work locations and access government vehicles as needed
Qualification
Required
Must have technical work planning experience—including writing step-by-step work instructions for maintenance or construction activities
Must be able to climb ladders, walk rooftops and varied terrain, and access construction sites to support planning and oversight duties
Must be flexible with work schedules and location needs, including being on-site and working across different areas when projects demand
Ability to obtain a Q Clearance (strong preference for active Q)
Demonstrated ability to plan technical work, including IWDs and scope documentation
Willingness and ability to physically perform site walkthroughs, including climbing ladders and rooftop access
Unescorted access clearance eligible
Comfortable working hybrid with regular on-site presence
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
Q Clearance preferred; ability to obtain is acceptable
Strong construction knowledge, particularly involving roofing systems
Background in Integrated Work Management
Experience supporting DOE or NNSA infrastructure or facilities
