Equipment Systems Specialist I (Internal EOU Candidates only)
Eastern Oregon University is a respected public, higher education institution of academic excellence. The Information Technology Department is seeking an Equipment Systems Specialist I to provide installation and maintenance of computerized systems while offering consultative support to enhance technology use for staff and faculty.

Responsibilities
Provide the installation and/or maintenance of computerized systems, including related electronic equipment, network printers, and telephone systems
Conduct research and development of operating systems and computer systems for the university
Provide consultative support to staff and faculty to enhance the use and access of technology and information systems
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, and software for faculty, staff, and labs
Respond to Help Desk tickets and troubleshoot technology issues across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, escalating complex issues when necessary
Assist with campus VoIP phone systems, printers, and networked equipment
Maintain documentation and perform preventive maintenance
Provide user-level training for software and systems
Act as the first point of contact for the IT Help Desk
Provide courteous and efficient customer service via phone, email, walk-in, and chat
Support department procurement processes, assist with billing for the Audio/Visual unit, and reconcile monthly expenditures
Maintain accurate hardware inventory, manage ID card processing, and support administrative workflows for IT staff
Daily package and mail processing
Create and update user documentation and guides
Provide basic user training and orientation
Assist in special IT or administrative projects, audits, or events as directed by the Assistant IT Director
Qualification
Required
Associate of arts degree in electronics or industrial technology; OR An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or directly related experience
Installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of equipment, products, and/or systems
Work-related experience analyzing and troubleshooting to resolve moderate to complex problems with campus phones, cell phone support, hardware, software, and peripheral devices on Windows-based PCs, Linux, and Macintosh computers
Experience troubleshooting all hardware and software associated with student computer labs, faculty and staff computers, regional center computers, and associated network and VoIP telephone connections
Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment
