Senior Staff Accountant

nextSource is looking for a Sr. Staff Accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys being a true business partner across the organization. In this role, you’ll support daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities while working closely with the Operating CFO and Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting activities with accuracy and timeliness
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and financial statements
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Reconcile balance sheet accounts including prepaids, fixed assets, amortization, and accruals
Record banking activity, reconcile bank accounts, and monitor cash balances
Analyze financial data and prepare variance reports
Develop and track financial reports for assigned focus areas
Maintain communication with internal departments to gather cost and transaction data
Assist with audit procedures and general ledger maintenance
Process weekly AP, expense reimbursements, and AMEX reports
Utilize help-desk ticket systems for workflow management
Troubleshoot and problem-solve with minimal supervision
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
3–5 years of corporate accounting experience
Hands-on experience with month-end close, fixed assets, prepaids, and bank reconciliations
Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office
Understanding of US GAAP
Knowledge of general ledger, audits, and SOX 404 controls (a plus)
Ability to analyze complex accounting data and provide recommendations
Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
Customer/client focus with professional presence
Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
Team-oriented with a collaborative approach
Required Travel: Once a month to Nashville, TN for a required Team Meeting

Preferred

Knowledge of general ledger, audits, and SOX 404 controls (a plus)
