Project Engineer
COMPA Industries is seeking a Project Engineer 2 for a position at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The role involves serving as a technical lead across various phases of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and facilitating communication among stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Serve as technical lead across planning, design, field execution, and project closeout
Manage design change processes, including coordination with internal/external teams
Provide technical support for construction teams during installation and commissioning
Facilitate stakeholder communication, including AHJ and SMEs
Ensure compliance with LANL’s Conduct of Engineering and NQA-1 standards
Qualification
Required
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 3+ years experience
Must be available for 100% onsite work – hybrid/remote is not allowed
Working knowledge of engineering contracts and construction interfaces
Familiarity with engineering codes and standards (NEC, IBC, ASME, etc.)
Effective communicator; strong interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration
Experience in technical documentation and submittal review
Proficiency in MS Office, Teams, and willingness to learn LANL tools
Preferred
Ability to obtain DOE Q Clearance (preferred at time of hire not required)
Familiarity with DOE orders (e.g., DOE O 413.3B), glovebox systems, and AutoCAD
Previous experience in regulated environments (DOE, DoD, pharma, oil/gas, power plants)
Advanced degree or professional certification (EIT/PE)
