Responsibilities

Maintain regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite, which is an essential function of this position
Advise management regarding critical deadlines, applicable rules, regulations, and related information to facilitate informed decision-making
Ensure compliance with internal controls, organizational policies, procedures, and court rules
Plan and coordinate the implementation of projects and programs to meet operational goals
Recommend enhancements to organizational standards and propose process improvements
Assess and identify training needs to support staff development and operational excellence
Advise management on personnel matters and address unresolved staff or team conflicts
Assign and prioritize work tasks to optimize team productivity and efficiency
Develop and update policies and procedures to ensure optimal unit operations
Ensure the accountability and accuracy of all financial transactions and fund management
Maintain staff accountability through ongoing performance management, including conducting formal performance evaluations
Prepare agendas and facilitate monthly staff meetings to promote communication and alignment
Compile and analyze statistical, technical, and financial reports to inform leadership and track progress
Develop team goals and create effective work schedules to maximize performance and achieve objectives
Implement effective leadership strategies to drive the achievement of organizational goals
Communicate operational needs clearly to both the unit and the broader organization to support success
Collaborate with colleagues in the Hunterdon and Somerset offices to share best practices, coordinate initiatives, and achieve unified results
Actively participate in statewide committees to represent the unit and contribute to organization-wide initiatives

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 21 credits hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration statistics, mathematics, data analytics or financial-related courses
Six of these credit hours must be in accounting
Three years of professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in accounting, accounts payable, auditing, purchasing, budgeting, cash management and/or financial analysis
Applicants who do not possess the required education but do possess the required 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, statistics, mathematics, data analytics or financial-related courses, including six (6) accounting credit hours, may substitute paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis
A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, economics, accounting, statistics, mathematics, data analytics or finance may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above
A CPA designation may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above

An unofficial transcript is required in order to apply
Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service
Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position
Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting
All persons newly hired by the Judiciary must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey
