Responsibilities

Program management and supervision of the Behavioral Health program at Pender Correctional Institution
Planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating the system for delivery of mental health services
Providing direct psychological services to offenders with a range of emotional and behavioral issues
Serving as a liaison between subordinate staff and management at Pender Correctional Institution
Establishing program goals and objectives, setting priorities and deadlines
Working with multidisciplinary staff to accomplish goals and address service delivery needs
Providing input to facility and agency management on policy and service delivery issues
Supervising staff to ensure operations are consistent with the overall mission of Behavioral Health
Coordinating behavioral health services
Developing work plans for mental health staff
Consulting with the psychiatric provider at the institution
Managing behavioral health staff to ensure staffing patterns and resources meet anticipated demands, training needs and licensure requirements
Conducting mental health triage/screening, crisis intervention, mental health assessment and treatment planning, individual and group therapy, suicide/self-injury assessment and management, and Restrictive Housing reviews and evaluations
Conducting risk assessments on offenders with a history of violent or sexual crimes
Traveling to other facilities to complete HUB-related duties as clinically relevant and necessary for behavioral health system function, as directed by the Psychological Program Manager

Required

Master's degree in a discipline specific to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in the area of assignment, including two years in a supervisory or consultative capacity; or
Bachelor's degree in a discipline specific to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and six years of experience in the area of assignment, including two years in a supervisory or consultative capacity; or
an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Demonstrated expertise in compliance monitoring, program reviews, resource management, and documentation to ensure quality care delivery
Demonstrated skill in analyzing and evaluating clinical programs, interpreting data, and presenting findings to support evidence-based improvements
Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams, planning and managing resources, and implementing best practices
Demonstrated excellence in communication and collaboration with division leadership, legislative committees, and interagency workgroups to enhance service delivery
