Sunoco LP is a growth company operating in fuel distribution, pipeline systems, and terminals. They are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their Retail Operational Accounting team in Dallas, TX, responsible for end-to-end accounting and analysis for gas, food, and auto services.

Responsibilities

Perform daily review of store activity. Work with store managers to address inventory, credit card, fuel sales and merchandise sales issues
Record daily and monthly journal entries to ensure accuracy of financial information
Prepare account reconciliations and explain reconciling items
Perform trend analysis on various P&L and balance sheet accounts
Proactively identify improvements in areas like tasks completion and availability
Creatively use Excel techniques to develop working templates for process enhancements

Required

Sound understanding of accounting practices and principles
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in use of Excel
Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods
General Ledger experience including manual journal entries and problem solving using t-accounts
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 0-2 years of relevant job related experience for Associate Accountant level
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience for Staff Accountant level
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience for Senior Accountant level

Preferred

Experience with PDI, SAP, Power BI, Alteryx, or Robotic Process Automation tools is a plus
