NEOGOV is seeking an Equipment Operator Journey 1/2/3 Lead to join the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities in King Salmon, Alaska. Responsibilities
Performs airport and highway maintenance at a State maintenance station that includes a rural Part 139 certificated airport
Responsible for maintaining State highways, airports, seaplane floats, bridges, and docks in a safe and fully operable condition for use by the traveling public
Complies with all applicable Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and State of Alaska rules and regulations concerning maintenance and operation of Highways and airports
Utilizes various types of light duty equipment to perform maintenance activities in support of State of Alaska mission and maintenance of infrastructure
Use of heavy equipment will be in a training capacity
Qualification
Required
Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in accordance with 49 CFR Part 383.23
Compliance with the most recent Equipment Operator Flex Letter of Agreement (LOA)
Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements applicable to CDL and safety-sensitive positions
Drug screening is required prior to operating any equipment requiring a CDL
Subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with established policy
Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road including cost and limits
Knowledge of procedures for operating motor vehicles, including cars, trucks, or watercraft
Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations
Accurately coordinate one's eyes with one's fingers, wrists, or arms to perform job-related tasks
Preferred
A valid Tanker (N) endorsement is required at the time of appointment or must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire under a conditional memorandum
Management may also require the incumbent to obtain a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement
