Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Talend ETL/ELT jobs for large-scale healthcare data integration
Process and transform Healthcare EDI X12 transactions, including but not limited to: 834 (Enrollment), 835 (Claims Payment/Remittance), 837 (Professional, Institutional, Dental Claims), 270/271 (Eligibility), 276/277 (Claim Status)
Perform EDI file parsing, validation, mapping, enrichment, and reconciliation
Integrate Talend workflows with Databricks (Apache Spark) for big-data processing and analytics
Develop and optimize Spark jobs using PySpark / Spark SQL within Databricks
Handle ingestion from multiple source systems such as SFTP, APIs, relational databases, flat files, and cloud storage
Implement data quality checks, error handling, logging, and monitoring frameworks
Ensure HIPAA compliance, data security, and PHI protection throughout data pipelines
Collaborate with business analysts, EDI analysts, data architects, and QA teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
Support production deployments, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
Create and maintain technical documentation and data flow diagrams
Qualification
Required
7–8 years of hands-on experience with Talend (Data Integration, Big Data, or Cloud)
Strong experience in complex ETL design and performance optimization
Solid hands-on experience with HC / Healthcare EDI X12 files
Strong understanding of EDI standards, segments, loops, and trading partner workflows
Experience with EDI validation, acknowledgments (999/277CA), and error handling
Hands-on experience with Databricks on cloud platforms
Strong skills in Apache Spark, PySpark, and Spark SQL
Experience working with Delta Lake and large-scale datasets
Strong SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar)
Experience with data modeling and query optimization
Preferred
Exposure to AWS / Azure / GCP
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and deployment automation
