Assistant Director of HR and Total Rewards
BridgeWork Partners is seeking an Assistant Director of Total Rewards & HRIS to join their Human Resources leadership team. This role is responsible for shaping the total rewards strategy and optimizing HR systems to attract, retain, and engage top talent while ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness in compensation and benefits programs.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, and recognition programs aligned with organizational objectives
Monitor industry trends and recommend adjustments to maintain competitive positioning
Lead compensation and benefits operations, ensuring efficient service delivery and compliance with regulations
Create and maintain policies, procedures, and SOPs for compensation and benefits processes
Design and maintain salary structures, pay equity reviews, and job classification processes
Conduct market benchmarking, salary surveys, and pay equity reviews; design and maintain salary structures and job classifications
Create and maintain standardized job descriptions for accurate classification and benchmarking
Oversee employee benefits programs, including healthcare, retirement, and wellness initiatives
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective, high-quality offerings
Promote employee understanding of benefits through clear and engaging communication
Manage HR systems (Workday), ensuring data integrity, system upgrades, and process optimization
Develop and maintain SOPs for compensation and benefits processes
Utilize advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, V-lookups) and other tools to produce compensation dashboards and reports
Apply data-driven methodologies to optimize benefits performance and workforce planning
Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and Payroll to integrate compensation strategies and workforce planning initiatives
Mentor and guide team members, fostering collaboration and professional development
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or certifications preferred
Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on compensation, benefits, and HRIS; public sector experience preferred
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or equivalent strongly preferred
Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Workday HRIS required
Strong analytical skills; experience with data tools
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results within deadlines
Preferred
Master's degree in Human Resources or related field
Experience leading HR teams and managing large-scale compensation projects
Familiarity with public sector compensation and benefits regulations
