Senior Research Coordinator, Earth and Environmental Science

They are seeking a Senior Research Coordinator for the Department of Earth and Environmental Science to oversee daily operations of research protocols, coordinate laboratory administration, and contribute to literature reviews and grant proposals.

Responsibilities
Organizing a bi-weekly seminar series
Creating and adapting visualizations for publication
Downloading and analyzing large climate datasets for use in scientific research
Supervising updates of public-facing web pages and social media accounts
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's with 3 to 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required
Programming experience with MATLAB is required
Strong written communication skills are required
The applicant should be able to solve technical issues encountered by the research group as well as improve and streamline research projects and code started by others
Preferred
Masters or PhD in an earth science field strongly preferred
Fluency in other programming languages like Fortran, Perl, HTML/CSS, and Python is helpful
Experience working with large data sets and complex statistical algorithms is strongly preferred
Experience or familiarity with reanalysis data and diagnosing atmospheric circulation dynamics from such data is strongly preferred
