Responsibilities

Performs management duties by monitoring clinic staff and handling disciplinary actions, assessing facility requirements and establishing work schedules and tasks
Conducts staff orientation, training, meetings, performance appraisals, and reviews
Monitors client flow, conducts quality assurance, reviews reports, and ensures successful clinic operations by meeting specific metrics
Promotes positive customer service and resolves client complaints promptly
Maintains knowledge of Harris County Public Health (HCPH) and Texas WIC Policies and Procedures by providing income and program eligibility determination and formula and breast pump issuance
Provides nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education in individual and group settings
Completes blood iron level check and anthropometric measurements and reviews growth charts
Conducts community outreach and provides appropriate referrals to clients needing services not provided by WIC

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in nutrition sciences with 24-Semester Hours of Food & Nutrition
At least one (1) year of professional work experience in a direct supervisory capacity
At least two (2) years of experience as a Dietitian or Nutritionist
Valid Texas Driver's License
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
Ability to demonstrate good judgment when needed to resolve client concerns
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
Ability to identify customer needs and expectations and respond in a timely and effective manner
Ability to obtain and filter information, identify, and address key issues relevant to the achievement of strategic organizational goals
Exceptional project management skills to manage a variety of projects simultaneously
Positively influence all levels within the organization to drive change and enable effective coordination
Ability to create strong, positive working relationships
Previous experience building and managing high performance teams
High-level of flexibility in fast-paced environments
Must be a Systems-level thinker

Preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish
At least one (1) year of experience as a Certifying Authority in a WIC Program
