Senior Electrical Technical Specialist

Arconic is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Technical Specialist to join their Finishing Department. The successful candidate will provide engineering support to maintenance, safety, quality, and operations, focusing on restoring product flow and developing solutions for process improvements.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support to maintenance and operations across the department including restoring flow during breakdowns and developing preventative maintenance systems (including during the off shift)
Troubleshoot equipment and process problems to root cause, providing engineered solutions to these problems
Manage large equipment rebuilds – development, justification, management and implementation of these projects
Develop into the technical equipment expertise for the department and provide technical leadership
Support the department’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental goals

Required

Minimum of 5 years' experience in an electrical technical field
Minimum of 5 years' experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university
Experience with ladder logic and programming/troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), Rockwell and Allen Bradley PLC experience is preferred
Experience specifying, installing and troubleshooting DC and AC motor drives systems
Experience with networking equipment, installation, troubleshooting and commissioning. (ideally as it pertains to Automation Communication)
Experience with power distribution systems
Manufacturing experience in the metals or similar industry, with aluminum rolling or processing preferred
Experience with rolling mills and mill controls, shears, strip processing and coiling, metal process furnaces or casting equipment
Technical knowledge to support the installation, operation, and repair of electrical controls and automation technology
Previous experience with data acquisition systems and data analytics
Experience in justifying, managing and executing capital projects
Strong written and oral communications skills
Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
Ability to work with cross-functional teams
