IFF is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients, and health & biosciences. The Biotechnology R&D Intern will gain hands-on experience in microbiology and molecular biology, supporting standard lab activities and executing experiments under supervision.

Responsibilities

Support standard lab activities including media preparation, sterilization, and equipment maintenance

Perform molecular biology and microbiology techniques under supervision

Independently execute experiments and present findings to the R&D team at the end of the summer

Analyze data, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate progress to advisors

Participate in training sessions, and maintain a safe, collaborative lab environment

Engage with professionals across departments to broaden your knowledge

Contribute to real-world food innovation challenges

Required

Current rising junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a BA/BS in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related fields

Minimum GPA of 3.0/4 preferred

Basic lab skills in microbiology or virology required

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to commit to a full-time schedule for ~10–12 weeks during summer break

Must have the right to work in the U.S. without restriction
