Virtual Item Processing Lead Specialist- Night Shift

KeyBank is seeking a detail-oriented Processing Specialist to support banking operations by managing and optimizing image-based workflows. This role focuses on processing, validating, and enhancing digital images for financial documents, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in transaction processing.

Responsibilities

Process and validate images of checks, payment documents, and other financial records using specialized imaging systems
Ensure compliance with Key Bank’s banking standards, regulatory requirements, and security protocols
Optimize image quality for accurate data extraction and fraud description
Collaborate with operations and IT teams to troubleshoot imaging issues and improve workflows
Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements for speed and accuracy
Maintain documentation for imaging processes and adhere to audit requirements
Primary focus is on execution within defined parameters with some expansion based on development. Roles at this level are responsible for routine operational and/or administrative work with little to no discretion and decision-making
Administering defined procedures, analyses, tasks and report preparation while receiving explicit instructions for filing, recording, processing, servicing, recording, and/or organization of documentation associated with a product or process
May assist in reviewing or ensuring proper documentation or procedures are used for basic activities
Performs basic routine tasks assigned by manager with little autonomy. May provides service in relation routine billing inquiries, service requests, suggestions and complaints from customers
Completes work by following clear defined procedures
Identifies and resolves moderate issues by following established guidelines. Refers more complex problems to Senior level or supervisor. May provide service in relation moderate complex billing inquiries, service requests, suggestions and complaints from customers
Uses some independence of thought to resolve basic issues and refers more complex problems to supervisors or other experts
Recommends and implements programs to solve routine issues, contributes to workflow or process change and redesign, and forms a foundational/basic understanding of the specific product or process
Is fully proficient in duties while working under moderate to limited supervision
Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice

Required

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year in operations or general office role
Strong 10 key skills are required
Working knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Working knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner
Working knowledge of back office operations; ability to implement the practices, processes, technologies, and applications associated with banking transaction processing and records management
Working knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations
Working knowledge of the importance of meeting or exceeding established targets; ability to drive critical activities to completion
Working knowledge of the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
Working knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
Working knowledge of the concepts and principles of Gemba Kaizen methodology; ability to identify and eliminate manufacturing waste through iterative improvements to processes
