Responsibilities
Perform year-round maintenance of state highways and airports, including operating and servicing heavy and light-duty equipment
Operate various machinery such as graders, dozers (D4 to D7), loaders, semi-tractors with belly dumps, and snow removal equipment for tasks like plowing, hauling, ditching, and surface repairs
Conduct traffic control duties including flagging and support general maintenance activities like vegetation control, sign and fence upkeep, and drainage structure maintenance
Perform additional duties such as welding, steam boiler operation for thawing drainage structures, vehicle maintenance, and shop cleanup
May serve as lead, requiring daily entries into the State MMS computer system
Qualification
Required
Current Driver's License/CDL with endorsements
Current Flagger Certification, if applicable
Class A Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required at time of hire
N-Tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire
Compliance with DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy
Education verification with transcripts required
Work experience documentation required
