Responsibilities
Perform site surveys to assess existing electrical system conditions
Provide support during construction activities as needed
Prepare clear, complete, and accurate drawings from rough or detailed sketches
Apply the requirements of the National Electrical Code and engineering fundamentals to design
Work with lead engineer to determine intent and contents of each drawing
Start and maintain a discipline file of working drawings for the project in Autocad and/or Revit
Work independently on design projects to support Design Engineer and coordinate drafting efforts for projects
Size and specify electrical components and materials
Prepare equipment layouts and establish proper space requirements
Prepare power, lighting and special systems plans
Coordinate all electrical design work with other design disciplines (architectural, mechanical, site, plumbing)
Qualification
Required
3+ years' experience ideally at an engineering or architectural/engineering firm
AutoCAD experience required
Knowledge of low voltage power distribution is required
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Detail oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy
Must be a collaborative team member able to meet tight deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Revit experience highly desirable
Knowledge of lighting design is preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is a plus
