Manager of Artist Engagement

Paint Creek Center for the Arts (PCCA) is seeking a Manager of Artist Engagement to support the growth and maintenance of their artist network. This role involves overseeing artist communications, managing festival logistics, and organizing gallery exhibitions.

Responsibilities

Communications including in-person, phone, e-mail, and printed information such as instructions, rules, and contracts
Securing payments including artist booth fees, application fees, etc
Assigning booth spaces for festival artists based on paid fees and special requests
Soliciting new and returning artist submissions, including finding new methods of marketing PCCA activities
Recruit and communicate with jurors, both on-site and ahead of the festival
Point person for artists before, during, and after the festival including: Managing Zapplication process, responding to questions, supervising load in and load out, overseeing the assembly of artist packets, etc
Oversee Art Gallery, including selection of work, display of art, payment to artists, and planning of opening receptions (5-7 shows per year)
Work with Exhibitions Committee in planning of gallery shows, themes, and formats
Managing payment of Art Market artist commissions on a monthly basis
Review and determine submissions for inclusion in the art market
Organize and arrange art market items to be aesthetically appealing to visitors
Support other work of PCCA including Art Education; Class, Workshop and Camp registrations; Holiday Silent Auction and other duties as required

Required

Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study (Business; Fine Arts; Liberal Arts; Visual & Performing Arts; similar fields)
2 or more years' experience in a related field of work
Experience with large public festivals (work experience preferred; volunteerism acceptable depending on other qualifications)
Ability to work independently to complete tasks correctly and in a timely manner
Strict attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software platforms including but not limited to ActiveNet and Square
Proven organizational skills, with a strong ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks, develop and manage calendars
Ability to consistently represent PCCA in a welcoming, friendly, and professional manner
Skills necessary to communicate effectively both in writing and speaking
Passion for art presentation and providing artmaking experiences required
High level of proficiency in Excel
Ability to work well with others is an important part of PCCA's small but growing team

Benefits
