Technical Clarification Specialist

Responsibilities
Provide technical clarification of spare parts and spare parts lists across all product types (GT, ST, GN, AUX) to support our Service Business parts quoting, ordering, and logistics processes, proactively focusing on improving SE’s response time to customers
Identify correct orderable parts, find alternatives, locate material master numbers, and assist with material master data updates
Support/drive critical/short-term outage demands from site (trouble shooting)
Ensure sustainable data quality by capturing knowledge and updating systems of record
Collaborate with colleagues and teams across SE such as Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and Procurement teams to resolve details and expedite processes
Analyze requests for potential improvements and drive process changes and/or automation projects to realize improvements, including to departmental improvement processes, support cultural transformation, and drive adoption of new ways of working within diverse teams
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent experience in a similar role (e.g., Field Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer)
Minimum 5+ years of experience in product design, service engineering, or order management. Candidates with additional experience may qualify for a higher level
You are proactive problem solver with an organized approach, who demonstrates initiative, asks questions, and communicates ideas clearly to support team objectives
Proficiency in English, with the ability to effectively convey ideas through writing and speaking
Proven experience managing technical data sources, such as material masters, supersedure logic, bill of materials, configuration structures, and drawings, with proficiency in IT tools like SAP PD2, PCM, and MS Office 365
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
Preferred
Power plant and spare parts experience across all product lines is preferred
German proficiency is a plus
Proficiency with Snowflake, Tableau or Alteryx a plus
