Associate Quality Engineer - Sanitation

The role involves ensuring quality and food safety, developing sanitation practices, and providing guidance on GMP compliance and sanitation programs.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance for the plant sanitation and GMP compliance through managing the pest control and environmental control programs and assuring appropriate corrective actions when gaps exist
Provide guidance for the plantwide sanitation program to achieve key indicator results that support the site strategic objectives, goals, strategies and measures
Provide guidance and develop technical expertise in appropriate personnel regarding sanitation, and hygienic design and controls
Provides direction and supports the daily management and work prioritization of sanitation responsibilities
Provides support, including training, troubleshooting, and some maintenance, to the production sanitation systems, equipment, and tools
Conduct cleaning and allergen validations
Collaborates with facility departments to define sanitation activities and resources needed to ensure completion of Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS). Audit MSS and complete RCCA on issues identified
Conduct Internal Audits and provides support in external audits

Required

BSc in Technical - Quality/Research/Product Development or other related disciplines
1-2 years of Manufacturing Quality Experience required
Project Management Experience preferred
Leading a cross-functional team required
Must be able to professionally relate to key vendors, HQ, and Operations to help grow partnerships, gain agreement on performance expectations and influencing change
Must have the ability to learn technical equipment/process and its capabilities
Must be able to relate work tasks to the 7 major plant KPIs (safety, people, quality, performance, service, cost, and innovation)
Must be able to execute Design of Experiments. (DOE)

Preferred

Certification and/or Licenses: HACCP, GFSI (SQF, BRC, etc.), Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt)
SAP experience preferred
TPM Experience preferred (within a food or pharmaceutical industry preferably)
