Product Engineering Manager - Automotive Coatings
PPG is hiring for a Product Engineering Manager to join their Automotive OEM team. This role involves executing market development activities to support the Automotive OEM Coatings business unit, focusing on increasing market penetration and developing marketing and sales strategies.

Responsibilities
Leads all new technology and product approvals for projects within the business plan and in accordance with strategic marketing and (global) account management for defined OEM & Tiers
Responsibility for approvals starting at OEM level down to n-Tier across complete product portfolio
Work closely with the Auto OEM & Tiers Sales and OEM Coatings Customer Teams to support the growth and market penetration of PPG Product Portfolio
Support the implementation of established PPO and pricing policies to ensure that the profitability of the product line meets the plan
Communicate customer needs and expectations for new business awards to the launch coordinator and execute pre-launch activities in 'Secure Launch' for successful product/technology introduction
Provide clear market feedback to Commercial Sales, Business Development, Technical & Strategic Marketing groups to ensure that future product and service development projects are prioritized and are consistent with the voice of the customer
Establish and maintain the necessary relationships with customers to ensure long-term growth and profitability
Initiate and direct projects / programs and introduce new PPG products with Customer's Engineering Groups which benefit PPG's business and strategic technical position using value selling tools
Obtain customer engineering approval of PPG products through coordination with Customer engineering group and PPG technical group including annual MY(model year) color approvals
This position will also handle/help coordinate global color and technology support activities with the OEM teams when requested
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience with coatings materials and application knowledge
Proficiency with software to include Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred
A degree in Engineering or the Physical Sciences discipline preferred, optimally, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry
