Supply Chain Engineer
Reliance One is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer to join one of their clients in San Antonio, TX. This position will oversee supplier relationships, drive cost savings, manage procurement activities for new product development, and serve as the key liaison between suppliers and internal departments to ensure operational excellence.

Responsibilities
Own and manage regional and global supply chain partner relationships
Identify, track, and execute significant cost-saving opportunities
Oversee procurement within new product development programs
Act as the escalation point for buyers and quality engineers
Serve as the technical interface with suppliers to convey requirements
Approve supplier price change requests in coordination with business managers
Continuously drive cost reduction and improvement initiatives
Liaise with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Application Engineering to manage supplier requests
Develop and execute supplier contracts and agreements
Manage RFQs and supplier quotation responses
Participate in product development design gate reviews
Align FMEA documentation between suppliers and internal standards
Submit internal spend requests (MERs) for supplier tooling purchases
Collaborate with Business Management to manage the total product business case
Optimize supply chain efficiency — manage MOQs, inventory levels, and pricing strategies
Support on-time supplier payments by coordinating with Finance and Shipping
Lead contract reviews and ensure adherence to terms and conditions
Develop supplier program timing for new product development and track progress
Maintain open issues lists and RASICs to drive timely task completion
Identify and resolve roadblocks to ensure successful program completion
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or Mathematics (required)
Skilled in developing project timing plans using Microsoft Project or similar software
Strong understanding of automotive design and validation processes
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
Strong mechanical aptitude; knowledge of fuel system devices preferred
Motivated, adaptable, and technically diverse professional
Demonstrated proficiency in manufacturing and organizational processes
Knowledge of quality processes such as PPAP, APQP, Inspection Processes, and Safe Launch
Preferred
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
Understanding of internal combustion engine operation (preferred)
