VP Private Banker

The VP Private Banker is responsible for growing and maintaining an existing book of High Net Worth clients, cross-selling credit and investment products while ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Responsibilities
Abilities to acquire High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients, activities which can be performed through referrals, through your own network and by actively approaching potential clients
Actively engage in contact with customers and counterparties, primarily based in Chile, through phone calls, face to face meetings and email to improve our understanding of customers’ needs and position BCI Miami Branch/ BCI Securities to deliver products that meet those needs
Identify risk management factors (Credit, operational, legal, etc.) on a timely basis
Profiling the needs and identifying business opportunities
Build relationships with clients and families and cross generations to be able to establish long term relationships
Develop and implement sales strategies and the subsequent servicing of UHNW customers and quality management of standard banking products and services
Understand and identify credit needs which can range from Advisory Lending, Securities Based Lending, Retail Lending, and investment needs (liquidity, cash management) of current and potential Private Banking clients and offer banking solutions as part of an integrated Wealth Management client team
Participate in internal committees
Demonstrate an understanding of bank policies and procedures, particularly about risk management while maintaining compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements in order to demonstrate consideration to the firm’s reputation
Conduct analyses of and document clients credit worthiness, ensuring that all credit proposals fairly assess the risks inherent in a proposed transaction to make well-supported recommendations
Follow up and track respective approvals from Head Office
Identification and development of credit opportunities, especially credit transactions involving term loans, Residential and Commercial Real estate and specialty loans
Collect, analyze and present all relevant information to understand the market, the participants, competition, opportunities and risks
Analyze and document clients credit worthiness for presentation to local and/or Head Office credit committees ensuring that all credit proposals fairly assess the risks inherent in a proposed transaction to make well-supported recommendations
BSA / Radar review and front office approvals
Develop and maintain a high degree of understanding regarding bank policies and procedures, as well as all legal and regulatory requirements for the US and Chile markets, particularly with regard to the clients’ product suite
Stay current with industry and regulatory standards and best practices as needed via seminars, industry events, training, certifications, and or licenses as needed
Must maintain courteous, professional, and effective internal and external working relationships
Must provide timely and appropriate responses to requests for information and/or customer complaints or concerns and provide appropriate follow up to ensure issues are resolved
Must receive and provide clear, constructive feedback in a cooperative and professional manner
Ability to understand, speak, read and write English and Spanish
Effectively speaking before groups of customers or employees
Assume evolving duties and responsibilities of position Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including, weekends, evenings and holidays as needed)
Travel as required
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Must have the ability to effectively deal with changing situation, in addition to recognizing, identifying and interpreting a variety of work such as instructions, forms, and reports
Ability to work and apply mathematical concepts to be able to get the assigned work completed
Required knowledge of regularly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing best-in-class client service
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external client
Must have the ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Ability to carry and lift boxes and objects that may weigh between 10 and 25 pounds

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field or MBA preferred
Series 7 & Series 66 (63 & 65)
At least (10+) or more years of experience a must
Needs to have a valid driver's license and must have the ability to independently visit clients
External client interaction (meetings, networking etc.), sales activities, accomplishment of goals, accuracy and regulatory compliance are critical functions of this job
