Divisional Controller
Top Stack is a growing, PE-backed services organization seeking a Divisional Controller. This hands-on leadership position involves owning the entire accounting function, building processes from scratch, and leading a team as the organization grows.
Responsibilities
Own and manage the monthly close process and general ledger
Oversee AP, AR, cash management, and reconciliations; stay hands-on as needed
Develop and document GAAP-compliant accounting policies and procedures
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for leadership
Partner cross-functionally on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Coordinate audits and ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met
Design and implement internal controls and scalable workflows
Hire, mentor, and lead a small accounting team as the function matures
Qualification
Required
10–15 years of progressive accounting experience (up to ~20 years considered)
Deep experience owning the full close cycle and general ledger
Proven success in lean, build-from-scratch, or high-growth environments
Flexible, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with strong follow-through
Executive presence and ability to communicate clearly with non-finance leaders
Preferred
CPA preferred but not required
