Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of agreements, including service and vendor agreements; real estate leases and licenses; manufacturing, supply, consignment, and purchase/sale agreements; financing and capital lease agreements; revenue-share and partnership agreements; NDAs; equipment and prop rental terms and conditions; master services agreements; and employment and separation agreements
Advising on corporate, employment, privacy, compliance and regulatory matters, and partnering with external counsel as needed
Managing litigation, including coordination with outside counsel
Providing day-to-day legal guidance to executives, business leaders, and operations teams
Supporting strategic projects and deals by giving practical legal advice, spotting issues, and assessing risks
Overseeing contract lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and best practices while monitoring commercial risk
Qualification
Required
JD degree or equivalent
3–7 years of experience handling sophisticated commercial transactions
Ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively with senior management
Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
Proactive, self-motivated approach with a commitment to excellence and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Active member in good standing of the California Bar
Preferred
Experience with real estate leases and licenses is a plus
Experience with commercial agreements in the entertainment industry (e.g., equipment rentals, prop manufacturing) is a plus
