Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Compensation and Benefits)

Responsibilities
You enjoy providing authoritative advisory service and/or developing authoritative policy interpretations in the areas of compensation (including pay, leave, time and attendance, etc.), work life, and benefits programs
You are thrilled about representing the Office of Human Resources in meetings with high-level officials from the USPTO/Department of Commerce, other agencies, vendors, and members of external organizations
You thrive at balancing workload and task assignments, meeting tight deadlines and changing priorities, and accomplishing goals and objectives
You are committed to ensuring that regular and clear lines of communication are maintained between the Office of Human Resources and the customer(s)
You are passionate about continual improvement and innovation

You must meet the definition of specialized experience
Required to pass a background investigation and fingerprint check

Suitable for Federal Employment
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position
Specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service
Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience in applying human resources principles, practices, regulations and policies
Experience in providing leadership an overview of compensation, work life and benefits programs
Experience in developing methods and techniques to assure policies, practices and procedures are effectively communicated to various audiences
Experience evaluating programs or office functions and recommending more efficient and effective policies and procedures
Experience demonstrating supervisory duties, including performance management, planning and allocating work, and assessing training needs for the staff
