Responsibilities
Lead and manage generator interconnection requests across regulated markets, with a strong focus on WECC and BPA systems, supporting projects through all study phases
Oversee interconnection strategy from pre-application diligence through execution, supporting both greenfield development and M&A transactions
Support and review Interconnection Agreements (IAs), including milestone tracking, cost exposure, utility upgrade scopes, and financial security requirements
Analyze cluster and system impact study results to identify interconnection costs, network upgrades, contingent facilities, and affected systems
Maintain internal tracking of interconnection queues, milestones, risks, and cost assumptions to support development and investment decisions
Partner closely with development, engineering, legal, and commercial teams to ensure technically sound and commercially viable interconnection outcomes
Monitor regulatory changes, transmission planning efforts, and stakeholder proceedings impacting interconnection and queue reform
Translate complex interconnection and transmission study results into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Direct, hands-on experience working with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) interconnection processes is 100% required for this role
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related technical discipline
3+ years of direct experience managing interconnection requests and study processes at a renewable developer, IPP, utility, transmission provider, or energy consultancy
Proven, hands-on experience with BPA interconnection processes (required)
Strong working knowledge of OATT, FERC LGIP, transmission planning, and interconnection queue management
Experience reviewing and supporting Interconnection Agreements and utility-facing negotiations
Ability to assess interconnection risk and clearly communicate cost, schedule, and technical implications to cross-functional teams
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing multiple projects and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and commercial teams
Preferred
Experience with large load or data center interconnection processes
Familiarity with geospatial or grid analytics tools (e.g., ArcGIS)
Exposure to utility-scale solar PV and BESS design, interconnection, and operational considerations
Prior involvement in stakeholder engagement, transmission planning forums, or interconnection reform initiatives
