Responsibilities
Collect, count and process fare revenues from buses and bus pass vending machines
Operate automated counting and sorting machines for cash and coin
Reconcile daily revenue collections and prepare deposit reports
Maintain accurate records of fare media distribution and returns
Assist in investigating discrepancies and reporting irregularities
Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit procedures
Support inventory management of fare media (e.g., tickets, passes)
Collaborate with transit operations and finance teams to resolve issues
Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data and assets
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or business preferred
1–2 years of experience in cash handling, bookkeeping, or revenue collection
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Ability to operate counting machines and basic office equipment
Ability to work early mornings (Monday-Friday), weekends, or holidays as needed
Preferred
Associate degree in accounting or business
Familiarity with transit fare systems and procedures is a plus
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software
