Responsibilities
Analyze existing UI systems to identify impacts related to account number expansion
Modify and enhance COBOL batch programs and CICS online transactions
Update and support DB2 schemas, SQL logic, and data access components
Ensure accurate handling of expanded account numbers across interfaces and integrations
Perform unit, system, and integration testing
Support deployment planning, production cutover, and post-implementation activities
Maintain compliance with federal UI constraints and state security standards
Produce and maintain technical documentation to support long-term maintenance
Qualification
Required
5+ years of IBM mainframe development experience
Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS
Experience working in z/OS environments
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Experience supporting large-scale, regulated systems
Preferred
Experience with Unemployment Insurance, benefits, or tax systems
Knowledge of VSAM, IMS, REXX, or mainframe change-management tools
Experience integrating mainframe systems with web services or distributed platforms
Prior government or public-sector project experience
