Responsibilities
Design, develop, and release BIW structural components such as rails, pillars, cross members, floor panels, and reinforcements
Develop and release water management features including drain holes, grommets, sealing flanges, and water channels to ensure proper drainage and leak prevention
Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using NX and Teamcenter
Perform interface checks, packaging reviews, and participate in design validation (DVP&R, DFMEA)
Work with manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility of stamping, welding, and assembly processes
Address design issues related to water leaks, corrosion, and sealing paths during development and testing phases
Support prototype builds and production launches by troubleshooting and implementing design improvements
Coordinate with suppliers for tooling feasibility, design changes, and release documentation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering (or related field)
1+ years of experience in Body Engineering, BIW Design, or Structural Components
Proficiency in NX CAD and Teamcenter
Solid understanding of body structures, sealing, corrosion prevention, and drainage design
Experience with metal forming, joining processes, and dimensional control
Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
