Mechanical Engineer

The Maintenance and Reliability Mechanical Engineer will provide engineering support through reliability processes and work within the automated steel unit to ensure operational efficiency and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities
Provides Engineering Support for the Maintenance Team
Subject Matter Expert for Reliability Engineering practices
Initiates and Facilitate Root Cause Analysis of equipment failures and major breakdowns
Identifies and proposes solutions for repeat equipment failures and unplanned downtime events
Participates in execution of critical equipment inspections and analysis
Analyzes Equipment Data, recommended maintenance plans, drawings, etc
Writes technically based Equipment Maintenance Plans
Performs tracking and trending of equipment maintenance performance
Review drawings and technical documentation

Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or similar Engineering Discipline required
Proficient in RCM Practices (Reliability Centered Maintenance)
Able to perform data analysis on equipment performance
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
3+ years' minimum heavy industrial experience
2 years' minimum engineering experience in reliability centered position in manufacturing environment
Demonstrated knowledge of Mechanical Engineering practices
Knowledge of heavy industrial equipment maintenance
Technical knowledge of: Rotational equipment, such as mechanical power transmission, drive shafts, bearings, couplings, rollers, conveyors
Hydraulic systems, i.e., cylinders, servo valves, piping, hose connections, filtration
Lubrication systems, such as centralized oil and grease systems, lubrication practices
Able to analyze equipment performance data and provide reports
Preferred
CMRP Certification
Steel Rolling Experience preferred
PdM Certification or Qualification (Vibration, Thermography, Oil analysis, Tribology, Motor Circuit Analysis)
CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer)
5+ years' experience in a Manufacturing environment (or equivalent industry)
SolidWorks/AutoCad working knowledge
Working knowledge of SAP
Familiarity with RCFA, Cause Mapping, Kaizen problem solving methodologies
Proficiency in writing technical proposals and communications at multiple levels of the organization
