Chief Financial Officer
Duo Health is a new type of medical group focused on transforming care for patients with chronic kidney disease. The Chief Financial Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of the organization, supporting growth and partnerships while establishing robust financial infrastructure and governance.
Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and executive team, aligning financial strategy with DUO’s clinical model, growth priorities, and long-term vision
Architect financial models that support DUO’s risk-bearing kidney care operations, including capitation, delegated risk, and medical cost management
Influence enterprise-wide decision-making by translating complex financial insights into clear, actionable strategies for leadership and the board
Support market expansion, provider partnerships, and service line growth through rigorous financial analysis and diligence
Transform month-end close, reporting, and analytics into a strategic business engine that supports clinical, operational, and market leaders
Build a best-in-class FP&A function that connects patient outcomes, provider performance, utilization, and cost trends to predictive financial forecasts
Elevate financial modeling, scenario planning, and cost analytics to drive sustainable margin improvement and operational efficiency
Implement scalable financial systems and infrastructure to support multi-market growth
Establish enterprise-grade financial controls, compliance frameworks, and governance processes appropriate for a risk-bearing healthcare organization
Lead external audit processes with precision, ensuring strong controls, transparency, and investor confidence
Ensure financial reporting meets the expectations of payers, regulators, investors, and board stakeholders
Drive capital planning and liquidity strategy, including cash forecasting, working capital management, and long-term capitalization planning
Partner with executive leadership and investors on financing initiatives, capital raises, and strategic transactions
Develop clear, compelling financial narratives that articulate DUO’s performance, risk management discipline, and long-term value creation
Optimize full-risk reimbursement economics, including medical cost management, provider incentive alignment, and delegated-risk structures
Partner with clinical and operational leaders to ensure financial models reflect real-world care delivery and patient complexity
Develop reporting that clearly illustrates how clinical performance impacts cost, outcomes, and financial sustainability
Build and lead a high-performing finance organization through strategic hiring, mentorship, and performance management
Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with clinical, operations, growth, and technology teams
Serve as a trusted financial leader across the organization, bringing rigor, clarity, and sound judgment to all executive discussions
Qualification
Required
15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including senior roles within risk-bearing or value-based healthcare organizations
Deep expertise in healthcare economics, including capitation, delegated risk, medical cost management, and provider incentive models; kidney care experience is a plus
Proven success managing full P&L responsibility in high-growth, multi-market healthcare environments
Demonstrated ability to build and scale finance teams, systems, and reporting infrastructure
Experience leading audits, establishing financial controls, and partnering with investors and boards
Strong ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for clinical and operational leaders
Executive presence with the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization
Preferred
MBA or advanced degree preferred, ideally with a focus in finance, healthcare economics, actuarial science, or related disciplines
