Broadcast Infrastructure Technician - Live Media Systems (24/7 Operations)
Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of a major audio entertainment company with approximately 170 million monthly listeners across North America. As a Broadcast Infrastructure Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring 100% on-air availability by troubleshooting complex broadcast systems, supporting studio personnel, and contributing to technology improvement projects.
Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain broadcast systems, IT infrastructure, and studio equipment across a 24/7 live production environment to ensure zero downtime
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for on-site and remote studio users, addressing audio/video routing, network connectivity, and endpoint problems
Install and deploy software/firmware updates across broadcast-specific hardware, physical and virtual servers, and production workstations
Diagnose equipment faults using system logs, signal flow documentation, and network monitoring tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, Wireshark)
Document incidents in ServiceNow and communicate status updates to management and cross-functional teams during critical situations
Support and implement broadcast technology projects including system upgrades, workflow improvements, and infrastructure expansion
Maintain data center environments and structured cabling within broadcast facilities following industry best practices
Collaborate with Tier 3 Subject Matter Experts on complex escalations involving virtual infrastructure and specialized broadcast systems
Qualification
Required
5+ years hands-on technical experience in broadcast, media production, or live content creation environments
College degree in technical discipline or equivalent military/industry experience
Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems, virtualization support, and data center operations
Experience with network infrastructure troubleshooting (routers, switches, firewalls) and diagnostic tools
Proficiency with digital audio/video routing systems, playout systems, and broadcast production software
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work comfortably on ladders
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Availability for all shifts in a 24/7/365 facility including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred
Experience with broadcast consoles, studio equipment, and satellite downlink operations
Familiarity with media encoding devices (Evertz, Telos, LAWO) and broadcast-specific systems
CLI management and scripting abilities for automation and efficiency
Ability to create technical schematics using AutoCAD, Visio, or Lucidchart
