Director of Sales and Marketing
StepStone Hospitality is seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing for Hotel Indigo Williamsburg, a boutique hotel in Brooklyn. This role is responsible for leading sales, marketing, and revenue-generating initiatives to enhance the hotel's performance and establish it as a premier destination for travelers.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to maximize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR
Lead group, corporate, leisure, and local negotiated account sales efforts
Identify new market opportunities and proactively pursue business through prospecting, networking, and partnerships
Collaborate closely with Revenue Management to align pricing, forecasting, and distribution strategies
Oversee marketing initiatives that reflect the Hotel Indigo brand and the unique character of Williamsburg
Partner with corporate marketing, digital agencies, and PR partners to drive awareness and demand
Ensure consistency in brand messaging across all channels, including website, social media, and third-party platforms
Support promotional campaigns for rooms, F&B outlets, and local experiences
Lead, coach, and develop the sales team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
Set clear goals, monitor performance, and conduct regular sales meetings and training
Act as a key member of the hotel’s executive leadership team
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, local businesses, community organizations, and industry partners
Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and community functions
Position the hotel as a destination for groups, events, and social functions in Brooklyn
Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and annual sales reports and forecasts
Manage the sales and marketing budget effectively
Ensure accurate use of CRM and sales systems in alignment with IHG standards
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5–7 years of hotel sales leadership experience, preferably in a lifestyle or boutique hotel
Strong knowledge of the NYC / Brooklyn hospitality market
Proven success in driving group, corporate, and transient business
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Strategic thinker with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
Preferred
Experience with IHG systems and brand standards preferred
