Associate Scientist II
Viltis is seeking an Associate Scientist II with a strong background in polymer materials characterization to support medical device project teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with analytical techniques and will thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
Perform material characterization and assessment using techniques including DSC, TGA, and FTIR to support materials science needs for medical device projects
Partner with scientists and cross-functional project teams to define and execute test plans
Conduct hands-on laboratory testing and analysis
Work effectively in a dynamic, team-based environment
Document experiments in an electronic notebook system within a highly regulated (GMP) environment
Analyze test results and draft clear, concise technical reports
Apply technical concepts and principles related to materials science and polymer characterization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a closely related field
1–3 years of demonstrated relevant industry or laboratory experience
Experience with common materials characterization techniques
Ability to operate analytical instrumentation
Experience documenting laboratory work in electronic or paper notebook systems according to GMP guidelines
Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Thermal analysis experience (DSC/TGA)
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
Preferred
Experience with polymer characterization and understanding of structure/property relationships
Working knowledge of Trios, Omnic, and LabVantage ELN systems
