Responsibilities
Responsible for the advanced activities associated with Project Costing for all Capital projects managed by Project Management and Engineering
Maintain complete, accurate, and timely cost accounting records for Municipal construction projects in accordance with government accounting standards
Verifies funds for expenditures
Provides financial controls through the participation and processing of accounts payables, vouchers, purchasing requisitions, and journal entries
Processes contracts, change orders, agreements, and amendments
Performs other duties as assigned to support the department
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and six (6) years of professional accounting, payroll, or similar work experience
OR Associate's degree in Accounting or a related discipline, and four (4) years of professional accounting, payroll, or similar work experience
OR Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline, and two (2) years of professional accounting, payroll, or similar work experience
OR A certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and two (2) years of professional accounting, payroll, or similar work experience
Must possess and/or obtain a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire
Preferred
Experience with SAP or other financial software is preferred but not mandatory
