Outside Sales Representative - Industrial Automation

Responsibilities

Generate new business while strengthening long-term relationships with existing customers
Engage with multiple buying influencers—including engineering, purchasing, quality, and senior leadership—to identify opportunities, propose solutions, and close business
Execute a strategic sales plan for your territory, develop key accounts, and play a critical role in Electro-Matic’s continued growth
Grow revenue by managing and expanding existing customer accounts
Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities within the territory
Build trusted relationships at multiple levels, including engineering, purchasing, quality, and executive leadership
Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with current and prospective customers
Present product solutions through demonstrations, samples, and technical discussions
Prepare pricing proposals, quotes, and sales contracts
Forecast future business and maintain accurate pipeline and project data
Collaborate with Inside Sales and Customer Service teams to support customer needs
Resolve customer issues related to deliveries, orders, or project requirements
Represent Electro-Matic at trade shows and industry events
Stay current on products, technologies, and industry trends through training and professional development
Manage travel and entertainment expenses within budget guidelines

Required

Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred)
3+ years of outside sales experience in industrial automation or a closely related industry
Strong business acumen with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy
Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to learn and use a CRM application
Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Travel will be required including overnight stays

Preferred

Experience with Siemens products strongly preferred
