Responsibilities

Lead delivery and technical ownership of NPT's enterprise Web Portal through internal teams, implementation partners, and managed services. Serve as accountable IT owner for reliability, performance, and continuous improvement, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing digital experiences for all customers
Oversee the transition and technical handoff of the existing Web Portal from a third-party provider, ensuring smooth operational continuity and full technical ownership
Partner with Product and Experience leaders to translate user experience goals into modern, intuitive web solutions. Ensure portal integrates seamlessly with internal IT tools and employee workflows
Manage platform implementation, system integration, and long-term operational support in collaboration with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Architecture teams
Build and lead a high-performing web delivery team, recruiting and developing internal talent for core platform ownership while leveraging partners for specialized or variable capacity needs
Define API requirements, integration specifications, and testing strategies for the Web Portal in collaboration with Platform Engineering. Document service contracts, technical dependencies, and quality assurance practices
Partner closely with IT Leadership on major technology decisions, vendor selection, organizational changes, and scope or timeline adjustments. Exercise sound judgment on when to resolve issues independently versus when to engage executive leadership
Manage vendor performance and day-to-day relationships for web platform partners, implementation vendors, hosting providers, and managed services. Support leadership in vendor selection by defining technical requirements, evaluating proposals, and assessing implementation risks
Oversee SLA performance, support operations, and escalation management across all Web Portal environments
Manage Web Portal operational budget within approved spending limits. Track expenses across infrastructure, vendors, and team costs. Identify optimization opportunities and escalate budget variances or funding needs to leadership
Ensure documentation, knowledge transfer, and institutional ownership of code, configurations, and integrations
Champion API-driven, modular web platform design enabling seamless and evolving integration with CRM, Data, and other enterprise systems. Leverage AWS, Azure, GraphQL, REST APIs, and MuleSoft while remaining cloud-agnostic
Collaborate with Platform Engineering and Architecture teams to ensure database architecture, migration planning, and performance optimization remain aligned with Web Portal requirements and user experience goals
Collaborate with Data, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure the Web Portal maintains SOC2 compliance and meets enterprise security standards throughout transition and ongoing operations
Champion agile delivery discipline and a product-led mindset, embedding iterative planning, transparency, and continuous learning across internal teams and vendors
Stay current with evolving web technologies, personalization, and AI capabilities, ensuring NPT's portal remains modern, adaptable, and customer-centered

Required

8+ years of IT delivery, engineering, or digital platform experience leading large-scale enterprise web systems or portals
Demonstrated experience managing platform transitions, vendor takeovers, or major system migrations
Strong understanding of modern web architectures, API design patterns, integration frameworks, and web hosting environments
Strong understanding of cybersecurity and operational control requirements in SOC2-compliant environments
Experience managing blended delivery models with internal staff, contractors, and implementation partners
Proven vendor management with SLA oversight and multi-vendor coordination
Understanding of database architecture, migration strategies, and performance optimization
Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to translate technical complexity into business clarity
Hands-on technical aptitude with strong delivery ownership

Preferred

Experience with Azure cloud services, other providers acceptable
RESTful and GraphQL API expertise
PostgreSQL or enterprise database systems experience
Familiarity with CRM and data platform integrations
Financial services or nonprofit sector background
