Campus Support Director (OIDD-Pee Dee)

NEOGOV is seeking a Campus Support Director for the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. The role involves providing leadership and direct supervision to Campus Support Coordinators, ensuring safety and compliance in a residential care setting, and assisting consumers with daily living skills and behavioral support.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership and direct supervision of the Campus Support Coordinators (CSCs) and Switchboard for the facility
Ensures effective patrolling and monitoring of campus grounds; checks for fires, prowlers, vandalism or other unusual occurrences; makes rounds of buildings/units according to Agency and Office directives, Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) regulations, and facility internal procedures. Conducts routine fire drills and emergency medical drills. Participates in Emergency Preparedness; assists in conducting and coordinating required regulatory disaster drills. Ensures CSCs conduct required fire drills
Oversees completion of daily log by CSCs to ensure proper documentation of issues arising on each shift is completed (such as residential staffing levels; residential staff call-ins/overtime/holdovers; issues regarding consumer illness, and/or behavioral episodes; physical plant issues; etc.). Sends communication to appropriate management staff for follow-up on noted deficiencies
Provides on the spot correction(s) for noted deficiencies. Assists staff as needed with programmatic issues, especially consumer behavioral issues, in accordance with the consumer's Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
Provides direct hands on individual care to all consumers as needed. Follows sound professional techniques according to agency guidelines, rules and regulations. Participates in training and provides guidance to consumers in the development of activities of daily living skills. Monitors and transports consumers to and from programs, activities and off-campus appointments/trips. Ensures the health and safety of each consumer while assigned to a residential building. May be required to stay over or work an additional shift to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained to ensure the safety of consumers
Contacts Facility Administrator and/or designee as soon as possible regarding notification following ICF-IID regulations, departmental directives and regional center procedures. Timely and accurately reports Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation (ANEs) and Critical Incidents to the Risk Department and informs/places employees on suspension pending investigation (SPI). Contacts local law enforcement as necessary
Conducts periodic meetings with Campus Support Coordinators, switchboard operators and executive staff members to facilitate follow up of information, regarding facility procedures, events, policies. Attends training as appropriate
Performs other duties as assigned by leadership

Required

A bachelor's degree and experience performing administrative and support services activities in a residential/nursing care setting, or a bachelor's degree and experience with business and/or leadership roles in federal, state, or private organization settings, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience as approved by the Division of State Human Resources
A valid drivers license

Preferred

Experience as a supervisor and experience working in the disabilities field
Ability to provide leadership and direct supervision to the Campus Support Coordinators (CSCs) and Switchboard
Ability to ensure coverage of all shifts
Ability to participate in the Disaster Preparedness Process and conduct annual disaster drills
Knowledge of the methods and techniques for securing buildings and grounds
Ability to maintain peace and decorum
Knowledge of the practices and techniques of safety, security and fire protection
Ability to act quickly and intelligently in emergency situations
Ability to adjust to fluctuating situations
Ability to investigate accidents, disturbances and violations
Ability to deal courteously and firmly with the general public, staff, and consumers
A strong knowledge of Regional Center policies/procedures and Agency and Office Directives
Knowledgeable of Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) regulations, Therapeutic Options, CPR, Standard First Aid, and Defensive Driving
