LHH is partnering with a well-established, mission-driven Boston law firm that is expanding its nonprofit practice and seeking an experienced attorney to join the team. This role works closely with the firm’s real estate transaction group and offers direct collaboration with senior leadership on sophisticated, values-aligned matters.

Responsibilities

Advise tax-exempt organizations on governance, compliance, and operational matters
Form nonprofit entities and support federal and state tax-exempt filings
Assist with mergers, affiliations, restructurings, and strategic transactions
Draft and negotiate corporate and transactional documents
Research and analyze nonprofit, tax, and regulatory issues
Prepare practical, client-focused memoranda and guidance

Required

At least 3 years of relevant nonprofit, corporate, or transactional experience (flexibility for the right background)
Excellent writing, analytical, and issue-spotting skills
Strong work ethic and ability to manage matters independently
MA bar admission or eligibility to waive in

Preferred

Experience with laws affecting governmental or quasi-governmental entities (such as Open Meeting Law or Conflict of Interest Law) is a plus, but not required
