VP, Captive Manager
Brown & Brown is a company built on meritocracy that rewards self-starters. They are seeking a Captive Manager to oversee the financial activities of captive insurance companies, serving as a key contact for clients and senior management while developing strategic and consulting skills.

Responsibilities
Provide advice on compliance requirements, investment regulations, and current accounting developments that affect clients
Give presentations at client, shareholder, and/or Board of Director meetings to review financial information. Prepare and/or review monthly financial statement package and management review for a group of captive clients, per GAAP, IFRS, SAP, and modified GAAP
Perform all accounting necessary for maintaining captive clients, including preparing and/or reviewing all general ledgers, reconciliation, and customized financial and managerial reports
Training, oversight, and development of teammates
Work with all service providers including but not limited to auditors, actuaries, tax authorities, regulators, investment professionals, lawyers, TPAs and bankers; acting as client point person to organize and coordinate all matters to effectively manage the captive clients. Prepare and/or review regulatory filings, premium tax returns and NAIC filings
Responsible for regulatory interfacing with each domicile – onshore and offshore, consisting of domiciles such as Vermont, Arizona, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, and South Carolina
Responsible for substantive audit review and compliance testing, involving drafting and reviewing audit reports
Monitor cash flow, prepare budgets and ad hoc reports. Work with multiple accounting systems, including Acumatica and Velixo to prepare financial statements in accordance appropriate accounting basis
Maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality of information processed
Follow all company policies and procedures

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
8-12 years of experience in a position with similar duties
Ability to use initiative and good judgment in accomplishing tasks with minimal errors
Must possess critical thinking skills
Establish and maintain effective work relationships and function in a team environment
Excellent listening, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including data entry, word processing, and spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Office applications)
